Equipment Design

In every industry that we operate we offer equipment design services from concept design to drafting for manufacturing and implementation phase.

In order to design an equipment many disciplines have to be involved for example:

  • Process Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Structural Mechanical Engineering

  • Piping Designer

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Instrumentation Engineering

Process Engineering

Process Engineering is involved in determining:

  • Process or processes that the inputs need to go through in order to get the desired product with the right parameters.

  • Quantifying the process or process involved or as expressed differently determining the condition of the process or processes.

  • Determining the condition that the equipment must operate in

  • Prepare PFD P&ID of the equipment (if applicable)

  • Preliminary equipment layout (in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineer)

  • Determine the major geometrical parameters of the equipment (sizing)

  • Technical parameters of the equipment an example could be number of strokes/rotation power requirements heat/heat removal requirements.

Mechanical/Structural Mechanical Engineering/ Piping Designer

Mechanical/Structural Mechanical Engineering/ Piping Designer (usually these disciplines are intertwined together) is involved in determining:

  • Detailed layout of the equipment

  • Selection and sizing of mechanical components for example bearing transmission bolt sealing couplings etc.

  • Material selection for each component of the equipment according to process requirements

  • Selections of operational and maintenance utilities like oils grease water requirements etc.

  • Designing of non standard components like Shafts, paddles calms special transmission, chams etc.

  • Structural analysis of non standard components like Shafts, paddles calms special transmission, chams etc.

  • Preparation of drawings for manufacturing and assembling

  • Selection of drivers for moving equipment in the case of electric motor in collaboration with the electrical engineer

  • Nozzle sizing and specification

  • Piping layout and specification (of applicable)
